Unity SLT offer a holistic approach to communication assessment. We will assess your child’s speech, language and communication skills and gather an overview of their strengths, challenges and support needs. The assessment will include taking a detailed history, reviewing available information and reports and direct work with the child or adult. A combination of standardised and unstandardised assessments, observations and discussion with parents/carers and professionals will be used to assess and understand their communication profile. Verbal feedback will be provided alongside the provision of an accessible summary report with strategies and recommendations.

Assessments vary in length and may require more than 1 session - this will be discussed during your free telephone consultation.

We are highly experienced in delivering a wide range of interventions to support speech, language and communication development. We believe the most effective approach to therapy requires us to be flexible and adapt our approach to meet the needs of the person we are working with. Therapy sessions will always be engaging and enjoyable for your child, as they will learn the most when having fun. Intervention sessions can be provided to introduce and embed strategies to support language and communication working directly with the child/adult and their support network.

We can offer intervention sessions in your home, at the nursery or education setting or in our clinic room in Cross Gates, Leeds.

Should you require written reports regarding the assessment or intervention with Unity SLT, we offer a choice of reports for an additional fee. Fees are based on the level of detail required of the report.
