Our Services
We offer a flexible approach to assessing and supporting speech, language and communication needs for children, young people and adults. We will always endeavour to consult with a child’s parents, carers, education settings and wider support network throughout their work with us. Appointments can take place wherever is most comfortable and suitable for the young person or adult. Visits can take place at home, in education settings such as nursery, school or college or at an alternative preferred location.
Free initial 15 minute telephone consultation
New families can arrange a free of charge initial telephone discussion with one of our Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapists.
We will listen to your concerns and hopes for Speech and Language Therapy, and discuss whether we are the right service to support you. This is a no obligation discussion with signposting to appropriate support and services.
Written reports
Should you require written reports detailing the assessment or intervention accessed with Unity SLT, we offer a choice of reports for an additional fee. Fees are based on the level of detail required of the report.
Initial Communication Assessment
A communication assessment can be provided to complete assessment of the child/adult’s speech, language and communication skills and gain an overview of their strengths, challenges and support needs. The assessment includes a detailed history, reviewing available information and reports and direct work with the child or adult. A combination of standardised and unstandardised assessments, observations and discussion with parents/carers and professionals will be used to assess, understand their communication profile. Verbal feedback will be provided alongside the provision of an accessible summary report with strategies and recommendations.
Assessments vary in length and may require more than 1 session - this will be discussed during your free telephone consultation.
Training
Unity SLT are experienced in developing and delivering training courses to parents/carers, education settings and professionals. We are able to provide bespoke training packages to suit your needs.
We are ELKLAN Tutor trained and experienced in delivering their accredited training courses.

Therapy Sessions
At Unity SLT, we are highly experienced in delivering a wide range of interventions to support speech, language and communication development. We believe the most effective approach to therapy requires us to be flexible and adapt our approach to meet the needs of the person we are working with. Intervention sessions can be provided to introduce and embed strategies to support language and communication working directly with the child/adult and their support network.
We can offer intervention sessions in your home, at the nursery or education setting or in our clinic room in Cross Gates, Leeds.
Additional services
We are able to attend meetings such as Education, Health and Care Plan review meetings on request.
